Welcome to the Active Bradford website. This site is for anyone who is interested in physical activity and sport in the Bradford District. Not only can you search for activities, but also find information on Bradford’s Community Sports Network and Local Sports Alliances, BIG initiatives, resources, funding, training, volunteering, coaching and recent news. There is also the Active Events Calendar which details sports events that are taking place across the District.     Swim for Free

    Free swimming for under 16’s and over 60’s.

    From the 1st April 2009, under 16’s and over 60’s are able to swim for free at specific sessions at Bradford Council pools. Click the following link for more information. Swim for free info and application form

    Bradford City Run

    18 October 2009 – join Bradford’s 10 or 5 mile Race

    Running is a fantastic way to keep fit and enjoy yourself – and you’ll feel great afterwards! That is why Bradford Council are organising the all new Bradford City Run on 18 October – not only that, but next year there will be a full Bradford City Marathon.
     Both events have been created with a variety of distances so there’s a race for all abiliities. Bradford City Run includes a 10 mile and a 5 mile road race, 4 runner relays and a Junior fun run. Why not get the whole family involved for a great day out! All ages, all abilities.
